Open Academic Journals Index (OAJI) is a full-text database of open-access scientific journals. Founder — International Network Center for Fundamental and Applied Research, USA.

Our mission is to develop an international platform for indexing the scientific journals of open access.

The Current Global Index of the Journal (CGIJ) OAJI is created taking into account the current global trends and challenges in the field of indexing the scientific journals. CGIJ OAJI considers the scientometric citation databases (WoS, Scopus), as well as the basic database of open access (DOAJ).

It is made an attempt to combine the database of open access with the ranking by value CGIJ on OAJI platform.

The DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals) was launched in 2003 with 300 open access journals. Today, this independent database contains over 16 500 peer-reviewed open access journals covering all areas of science, technology, medicine, social sciences, arts and humanities. Open access journals from all countries and in all languages are welcome to apply for inclusion.

DOAJ is financially supported by many libraries, publishers and other like-minded organisations. Supporting DOAJ demonstrates a firm commitment to open access and the infrastructure that supports it.

DOAJ is a co-author to the Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing that provide the basis of the DOAJ basic criteria for inclusion.

Основу ELibUkr становить єдиний потужний портал, який спрямовує користувачів до всіх типів електронної інформації. Студенти, викладачі і науковці отримують вільний доступ до всіх ресурсів проекту.

Початкове фінансування проекту в Україні здійснено за підтримки USAID, Києво-Могилянської Фундації Америки та участі університетів. Але проект потребує додаткової фінансової підтримки уряду України, бізнес спільноти, фондів, участі університетів та користувачів.

Ініціатор проекту ELibUkr - Києво-Могилянська Фундація Америки. Серед учасників: Центр Технологій та Інноваційного Менеджменту Нортвестерн Університету США та Всеукраїнська Асоціація «Інформатіо-Консорціум». Засновниками є три університети – Національний університет «Києво-Могилянська академія», Чернівецький національний університет ім. Ю. Федьковича та Харківський національний університет ім. В. Каразіна. Проект відкритий для участі і стрімко розширює національну мережу.
